Bone Health Center

Bone is a living, growing tissue. It is mostly made of a protein called collagen that combines with calcium to make bone strong, but flexible. Various disorders can affect bone health. In osteoporosis, bones weaken, making them susceptible to fracture. Osteomyelitis is an infection of bone tissue. Osteopenia is a loss of bone mass that often precedes osteoporosis.
